Finding GPS Coordinates

RaiYai relies entirely on GPS coordinates to generate accurate maps of all business listings in our database. It is fairly quick and easy to discover the proper GPS coordinates of any location these days, but our recommended methods appear below.

1. Smartphone Apps - Using your smartphone to determine GPS coordinates is one of the easiest and most accurate methods. Please note that rather than recording GPS coordinates using scientific “degrees” we kindly request you to use the simplified DMS (a.k.a. decimal) format of GPS (required for Google Maps to display properly).

BAD:   N 13° 43′ 26.9394″, E 100° 28′ 33.5814″ (scientific degrees not valid with Google Maps)
GOOD:   13.72415, 100.47599 (decimal with at least 5 digits AFTER the decimal point)

2. Drag & Check - Using RaiYai’s custom map tool below, you can quickly drag the marker anywhere on Google’s map of Thailand to discover what its GPS coordinates are. For example, zoom to the appropriate location within Thailand where your business is located until you can view the individual streets. Then, drag the red marker until it lies exactly on the current spot where your business exists, and check the GPS decimal readings that are output by the map tool.
