I’m thinking about applying for my Thai visa in Vietiane embassy and crossing over the land bridge, but I don’t want to stop in Bangkok. I don’t see many flights that can go to Vientianne without stopping first in BKK or DMK airport ffs

why don’t you want to stop at Bangkok, I think you can use transit visa regardless of your immigration history in Thailand

Singapore Changi has a direct flight, via Scoot airlines the past few years
a bit more expensive, but if you need to avoid Bangkok…

Unironically it’s crazy that no other airport in Thailand flies to Vientienne besides Bangkok. For example, Khon Kaen or Ubon. Large cities who could service inflights to Laos capital. I don’t even think that Chiang Mai flies there yet, you can only fly into Luang Prabang from CM from the last time that I was researching it.
