I’m trying to figure this out, but every resources has different advice, are we supposed to include the zero “0” before every phone number in Thailand?

every number I had in Thailand Sim cards was like “09…” or starting like that if I remember.

I think the old Sim cards were “08…” and some maybe still are. But all of them had a zero as I remember it.

The Wiki page is kind of poorly written: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Thailand

…. but I’m pretty sure the “0” is only when inside Thailand. If you are calling from other countries, you can remove the “0” prefix. I don’t know why but the zero is some type of recognition for Thai telecom companies to dial the numbers inside Thailand only.

    Very simple kids:

    • Inside of Thailand: put a zero prefix
    • Calling into Thailand: do not put a zero prefix (only +66 country code)

“I tried calling a company in Thailand via Skype Out”….

probably that is cus Skype ignored your “0” not because of anything else.

it’s helpful but just to clarify, landlines also have the “0” prefix when you’re in Thailand, not only mobile numbers
