Thailand gets lots of attention because of the food and culture over the last decades, and was always a stronger economy but that seems to be changing quickly now… so what would you say is worse about Thailand than other neighboring countries in Southeast Asia?

What’s worse? Take your pick!

– airports are crowded with the grumpiest police in all of Asia, even worse than communist Hanoi airport
– worst corruption in all of East Asia you can’t get anything done without bribes
– Immigration police require constant bribes to “pass” the every-changing visa requirements
– Visa requirements changing daily, part of the corruption games
– government websites are either broken, no English, or totally outdated and they will blame you for following what it says
– terribly slow and uncomfortable trains
– you’re only allowed to fly into a couple airports from other countries (so the Bangkok elites can control everything and pad their pockets)
– if you’re a foreigner you must check in with police every 90 days without exception, even if you marry or have kids in Thailand
– government will treat you like shit without exception, xenophobic and condescending to all foreigners
– terrible English to the point you can’t even get help sometimes at a hospital or airport etc
– if they don’t know something they will lie, scream, ignore you, or blame you
– huge number of sexpats, creeps, criminals, mafia hiding out in Thailand cuz they bribe their way to stay there
– not family safe, even for locals, kids getting raped or people being murdered is just normal and the crimes go unpunished
– cheating on your spouse and getting drunk with your friends is life as normal in Thailand
– drunk drinking 24/7 and people dying always, and nothing changes
